Kanban is a Japanese term and stands for Kan 'visual' and Ban 'card' or 'bord'. It's a concept used in the Lean Manufacturing and the Just-In-Time production. Kanban is a system which is developed to provide a visual overview when 'something' is needed. It is an excellent way to visualise problem areas and bottlenecks in order to start making improvements. A Kanban board is adjusted to the needs of visualisation which differs per project, however boards almost always contain the vertical lanes; To do, Doing and Done for tracking the status of tasks. Other than Scrum boards, Kan Ban doesn’t have the ability to organize tasks into sprints.

We use a Kan Ban board for tracking the status of our tasks
